Louis de Broglie Essays

* Prince Louis-Victor-Pierre-Raymond, 7th Duc de Broglie, otherwise known as Louis De Broglie, was a French physicist that came from a well grounded family, went to pursue his dreams, earned a Nobel prize, took time to go into the army, and discovered the wave nature of matter all in his life time. Louis De Broglie was the son of Pauline D’Armille and Louis Alphonse Victor de Broglie. De Broglie was the youngest of his family, including two older sisters and two older brothers.
Phillippe de Broglie, Maurice de Broglie was a distinguished physicist who made many contributions to the study of X-rays. He was a member of a Piedmontese royal family which has been significant in both the world of science and the history of France, Albertine de Broglie de Luppe who and Laure Marie Pauline de Broglie de Pange. His family was not poor, but was not rich either. After his father died when Louis was fourteen, he received a scholarship to college, and during middle school and high school was home schooled.
Broglie’s father, Louis Alphonse Victor de Broglie was a French Aristocrat and his mother, Pauline D’Armille was a stay at home mom who cared, cooked, home schooled, and cleaned for her husband and children. * Louis de Broglie was born on August 15,1892,in Dieppe, France, and died in March 19,1987 at the age of 94 in Louvecinnes, France. The nationality of Louis de Broglie was French. De Broglie studied at Sorbonne, and the University of Paris for college, and he was homeschooled by his mother and offline when he was in grade school and high school.
Louis de Broglie was known for the wave nature of electrons, and de Broglie wavelength. He is best known as the father of wave mechanics, a far-reaching achievement that changed modern physics remarkably, and led him to win the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1926. * De Broglie did not get married, however his brother helped to keep him in line after his father died, and was there for him helping him along the way. De Broglie was very jealous of his brother Maurice. He wanted to be just like him and follow in his brother’s footsteps after his father died.
He never competed with any other scientists, but was always trying to catch up to his brother and beat him. * De Broglie initially studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, intending to enter the diplomatic service. After his brother Maurice decided to go to school for physics, Louis also became interested in science and decided to pursue a degree in theoretical physics. His dreams were put to a halt when World War 1 came and De Broglie took time, which he served in the French army. Not even a war however could take de Broglie’s mind off of science.
During combat he used his talents in a wireless telegraphy unit in the Eiffel Tower. De Broglie returned back to his studies in 1920. * Louis de Broglie died a natural death at the age of 94 in Louveciennes, France on March 19, 1987. Before de Broglie’s death, he managed to earn a lot of worshipful awards, some including, “the Nobel prize in physics in 1929, the Henri Poincare Medal in 1929, the Albert 1 of Monaco Prize in 1932, the Max Plank medal in 1938, the Royal Swedish Academy of sciences in 1938, the Academie Francoise in 1944, the kalinga Prize in 1953, and the royal society prize in 1953. http://www. nobelprize. org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/1929/broglie-bio. html * Over all I think that Louis de Broglie was a very giving man because he took time out of his studies, not only from his life, but for the lives of his family too. It did not give any information about his religious practices or beliefs, but I think he takes others people opinion and makes it work in his life to be better at everything that he does. So I think that if he was a strong believer in his faith that he would succeed more, and be very into his faith.
