Introduction

There are many psychological disorders thriving today. They stem from various factors such as environment, hereditary, and biochemical factors that have significant effect. The mental, physical, and emotional aspects of a person are also considered.

Part A

Schizophrenia is a psychological disorder characterized by distortion of reality and disturbance of thoughts and languages that eventually lead to withdrawal from social contact. The part of the brain affected showed abnormally low activity in the frontal lobe area. There are also enlarged brain ventricles indicating a deficit in the volume of brain tissue. Five symptoms of schizophrenia are delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, disorganized behavior, and negative symptoms. Antipsychotic medications are available treatment for this kind of disorder.

Part B

Anorexia and alcohol abuse are also considered psychological disorders. Anorexia is commonly described as the fear of gaining weight thus causing the person to vomit what he or she had eaten or that person couldn’t even eat. Alcohol abuse, obviously, is the overdrinking of alcoholic beverages. Incontrollable love of alcohol will soon devastate the body.

Conclusion

Psychological disorders differ in the degree of their manifestations. Some may not be aware that they are already suffering from one. It is important to trace and find the roots of the disorders to help the patient recover fast.
