I am going to explain some of the steps you would go through to complete a trigger for a crossbow. II. Main point 1 (the first step in the process) The first step that you have to do is determine what crossbow you are building triggers for. Once you have determined what trigger you are building than you can choose your housing unit. There are two: 3600 and 3601. Let’s say that you are building the crossbow “Brotherhood. ” The housing unit you would pick would be 3600.

I build one hundred triggers at a time so I would get one hundred 3600 housing units. . Sub-point 1: b. Sub-point 2: c. Sub-point 3: Ill. Main point 2 (the second step in the process): Then I would put one pin in the front and one pin in the back. The “Brotherhood” crossbow takes more time because there are more pins in the housing unit. A. Sub-point 1: IV. Main point 3 (the third step in the process): Once I have finished putting pins in one hundred 3600 housing units, next I would get one hundred transfer bars and one hundred triggers.

Than would build transfer bars for the triggers.

Each crossbow has a different kind of transfer bar. The “Brotherhood” uses 3663 transfer bar. I would get one hundred 3663 transfer bars and one hundred riggers. A. Sub-point 1: (You may add more steps if necessary. ) Main Point 4: Next I would connect the transfer bars using a washer and pin and e-clip. I have a special tool to attach the e-clip to make sure the parts stay together. Once I was done with one hundred transfer bars, I would connect the transfer bars to the housing units using the washer and pin and e-clip.

V. Conclusion: As you can see this is a lengthy process; it takes me around three to three and a half hours to complete the one hundred “Brotherhood” crossbow triggers. This is only the first step in completing the triggers. I probably build here to four thousand triggers per week, I stay very busy. I hope that this essay has given you a little inside look at the process of building triggers for crossbows. See detailed instructions for A, B and C in Part 2 on the next page.

Part 2 Detailed Instructions for Creating a Thesis Statement and Basic Outline for the Process Analysis Essay Instructions for A. ) Selecting your process 1 . ) There are some great examples of processes to analyze on page 21 1 in our textbook. Please avoid #5, #7, and, #20 because these processes will require research, which you will not need for this paper. . ) The process you select should be something that you already know how to do, and it should not be a complex process with many, many steps. Instructions for B. ) Creating your thesis statement 1 . The thesis statement of a process analysis essay sets up the path of the paper just like a traditional thesis statement. However, it either states the reason you feel this process is important enough to share or it states an opinion about the nature of the process (See p. 210 for details! ) 2. ) Here are two examples of effective process analysis thesis statements: Building a sandcastle is a fun recess that only involves sand, water and a few simple tools. Preparing fresh fish is an easy process that involves cleaning, cooking and serving.

Notice that an effective thesis statement clearly mentions the process that will be analyzed (building a sandcastle; preparing fresh fish) and it makes a clear statement about the nature of the process (fun; easy). You can also mention three or more main steps. (That’s why it’s important to pick a simple process. ) 3. ) Your thesis statement may be as simple as filling in this model: (Process) is a (fun, easy, etc. ) and (step #3) process that involves (step #1) step #2) . Instructions for C. ) Creating your basic outline for the process analysis essay 1 . You can read about Process Analysis Essays on up. 207-208 in our text. 2. ) A basic outline will include an introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs (which will be the three main steps in the process, but you can have more than three steps if necessary), and the conclusion paragraph. You will only need to fill in the three (or more) steps of your process in the outline. 3. ) Creating the basic outline will help you to organize your essay and keep you on track in each paragraph when you write.
