In 2008 I started working with the City of Decatur Children and Youth services as an after school Counselor. I learned a great deal from working within the organization through experience and different training my supervisors told me I should further my education in the field of Early Childhood. While working with the City of Decatur I came in contact with children with different backgrounds, disabilities, behavioral issues. I was person for those children to come to for comfort when they needed someone the most.
Their parents always gave me praise for being there for their children and not being judgmental because they might misbehave or because they don’t understand how to effectively communicate. My goal is to earn the CDA credential to become prepared to be knowledgeable, caring, responsible, creative, and an understanding teacher and mentor.
