Buscaglia’s lectures, which were delivered worldwide between 1970 and 1981. The book shows that even through life’s troubles, it is necessary to pause on occasion and practice being a loving person to you self, friends, family and to strangers as well. It shows how human beings were meant to live together rather than separated. The book explains how to “build bridges instead of barriers” with other people. Although other literature takes us in necessary directions, few works are as refreshing to the emotional well being as this book is.
Leo Buscaglia writes in a warming but concise writing style, which makes the reader feel like Leo himself was personally speaking to them. Living loving and learning is about learning to love, trust, thing and care about each other out of true spontaneity. The book encourages us to know who we are, what our inner power is and how to transfer our inner strength into outside love. Leo also included his friends comments and his own experiences. We often neglect people we love around us. This book shows the real meaning and value of life and love. The 5 most important points of the to me are book are – One cannot give what he does not possess. To give love you must possess love. – One cannot teach what he does not understand. To teach love, you must comprehend – One cannot appreciate what he does not recognize. To recognize love you must be receptive to love. – One cannot live what he does not dedicate himself to.
To dedicate yourself to love you must be forever growing in love. – One cannot know what he does not study. To study love, you must live in love. These points all teach you that you are only human you should give from what you have, and for you to accomplish what Leo says we are all capable of we have to be willing to free our minds of selfishness and become more knowing of the people around us (friends or strangers) by communicating to help them with whatever way we can which would help us better ourselves as human beings.
Leo Buscaglia has a warming but concise writing style, he sort of leads up to his point in an attempt to reel readers into the subjects of the book. In the book Buscaglia makes it clear about his what he wants to book to do practically from the start introducing it with a little background story of himself and the things that led to him doing what he did and writing more and more books, he simply seeks to spread every aspect of love he can and convince his audience to do the same by leading by example.
A review of the book said the book really changed their perspectives on a lot of things and enabled them to make a few differences to the way they live and I agree, after reading the book you realize that it is true that showing a little love and care could go a long way, I understood that you don’t have to have a lot to make a difference, giving what you have is a huge contribution on its own, the more we give, the more we learn and inspire those around us to do the same, the book really shows you that action speaks louder than words and a small difference starting from yourself could make a big change in others.
