The first and main difference between calling and texting is that one can talk to someone else by calling whereas texting is one kind of instant mailing. The caller and the receiver can talk to each other by a voice call but this is not possible by texting. The text message receiver can only see the message, but can not hear the voice. The second difference is related to the process by which one can communicate with another person. To call someone, the caller needs to input the receiver’s phone number and push the call button.

On the other hand, the message sender needs to type the desired text on the text message editor of the cell phone and then input the destination number and push the send button. It might seem that calling is much easier than texting. The third difference is related to the delivery of the information. If the receiver’s cell phone is switched off, the caller can not deliver the information to the receiver at that time. The caller needs to wait until the receiver turns on the phone and then call back. The receiver might need to drop the call because of any reason also.
However, on texting, the delivery of the information is obvious. The receiver will eventually get the message when the phone gets switched on. And text messages have no problem regarding receiving and for that reason the receiver will get the message instantly. Calling and texting are the most widely used communication method of cell phones. The main purpose of these two ways is same but each of the method has its own style.
