    Concealed Carry.
    Opening:
Picture yourself sitting in your favorite restaurant just minding your own business with your family eating a peaceful dinner. You glance at the table next to you and see a handgun showing from under a person’s coat. I know not everyone would agree with me but I would instantly be a little worried, regardless of if the man looked harmless or not. WI law passed on July 8, 2011 would permit this.

Many people believe that concealed carry is a law that should never have been passed. There is a large split in American population on whether or not Concealed carry is a right or should be a law. Many people, along with myself, believe that it should not be in effect. It is a second amendment right to bear arms, yet I don’t believe it should be allowed to do so loaded and in public. It is true that there are many laws in place to supposedly protect all of the people who would interact with the persons carrying a concealed weapon, however it presents a larger risk than normal. Moral Dilemma:

Even with the right to bear arms, there are two sides to concealed carry. One that believes that along with the right to bear arms, one should be able to carry those arms whenever they would like Others believe that the constitutional is fine and all, but it is extremely dangerous and hazardous to the rest of society for people to be carrying firearms in public. There will be loaded handguns on the streets, businesses, taverns (although drinking is not allowed when carrying, that would be hard to watch). Even though the conceal carry law has been passed, the class on the subject at MATC is still bringing firearms into a college building. Although you have to have a permit it can still be dangerous. The code of conduct did not originally allow firearms onto the campus unless previously authorized. This, assumingly, had to be changed in order to accommodate this class. It is an informational class, and does not grant a concealed carry permit, although the people who are bringing the guns are quite possibly already carrying weapons even if they don’t have a CCW (carrying a concealed weapon) permit Solution to the Dilemma:

Even with the strict laws, there are still many people in the population that have permits to own a handgun that should be reevaluated Make a specific conceal and carry class that must be taken. Make it unlawful to carry arms in more public buildings than are already so. Have a more thorough background check when applying for a CCW permit
