Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter for ABC, Incorporated is having a big problem regarding the upcoming new hire orientation which will be on June 15 involving 15 new hires - Case Study for ABC, Incorporated Essay introduction. ROOT CAUSE of the PROBLEM:
The problem on the unavailability of the venue arose because it was not previously reserved for use by Carl Robin’s department on June 15, or at least, its availability was not first ascertained before the event was set. As to the problem on the incomplete documentation, we could only surmise on the cause. There are two probabilities. One, there might have been indiscriminate hiring because there might have been a need in the company for more manpower, thus, they told the new hires to attend the orientation and just let the proper documents follow. Or two, Carl Robins still does not yet have a handle on the ropes because he is new to the company and the event is his first recruitment effort.
The problem of Carl Robins is basically one of logistics. He was not able to provide an available venue and to properly process the application of the new hires. The root cause perhaps why these miscalculations of logistics is Carl Robins’ inexperience. He is still new to the company. The event is his first recruitment effort. Setbacks such as the ones present here, though not usual, could at least be expected. His inexperience about the nuances of company procedure left him with a big headache. Thus, I would dare say that the root cause of the problem is his inexperience. He did not first check the feasibility of holding the event on June 15 at the desired place. This is a plain oversight. He was too impulsive, or excited, in showing off his skills in doing his job that he overlooked a small but important aspect. He was the hiring officer but he was not able to check first if the trainees have already been processed to be ready for the orientation. This is also a simple oversight—a schoolboy’s error. His inexperience is also shown when he assured the operations supervisor that everything will be arranged on time even before he assured himself that everything can be arranged on time. These are simple errors which are brought about by inexperience. So yes, it was the lack of experience in the field which prevented him from having the event well-organized.
However, this predicament that Carl Robins has put himself into will teach him a lot. Most expectedly, he will no longer be making the same errors because he already has experience about such things. Having gone through it, he learns the hard way.
The root cause of the problems that arose in this case are not so serious. It is simply because of lack of experience. The solution is just to gain experience. By going through this, Carl Robins can already gain experience and better know-how about how the company operates in these areas so that he will not commit the same mistake in the future.
However, a momentary solution for the current problem must be had. And the solution is relatively easy. Carl Robins still has about 15 days to correct the problem. That is plenty of time. All he has to do is locate a new venue and notify the trainees, the operations supervisor, and everyone involved of the new venue. That should not be so hard. And as to the incomplete documentation, he need only ask the trainees to submit all their documents in completion of the requirements. They will be given a certain amount of days to do so. And that will not be so hard either. It is just 15 phone calls away.

To conclude, the lack of experience of an employee usually causes a lot of problems both to the employee and to the company. Fortunately, the errors committed in this case can be rectified. However, there are errors which can not be rectified. Thus, it is recommended not to allow new employees to handle big responsibilities within their first few years in the job no matter how skilled and talented they are. Allow them to work under the supervision of a seasoned and experienced employee. There is still no substitute for experience as the best teacher.
