In the manipulation of these factors, the citizens tend to act less offensively. The elimination of conditions responsible for creating problems will therefore lead to the solving of such problems. The policing which are problem oriented deals with the causes of problems. The officer’s duty is to establish the link between social disorders and crimes and their causes. The organizational transformation method requires that organizations are transformed in such a way that basic values, instead of just procedures are used as the guidelines for service delivery to the society. This transformation includes the integration of the philosophy of community policing into the policies and procedures of the culture and traditions of the organizations (Poulin, & Nemeth, 2004).
Community protection officers have of late emerged as very important members of the community especially in the countries that have already adopted this system of community protection. As change is inevitable, the transformation of the security agencies to include members of the society is an excellent idea. This will enable the security providers in curbing and reducing criminal activities. This will ultimately ensure that the safety of citizens and their property is well safeguarded.
