The first major consequence of lack of environmental impact assessment is lack of sustainable development. According to Woods, (2006) continued environmental degradation has been accelerated by lack of sustainable growth.

As a result of lack of engineers’ competence and experience unethical environmental practices have continued to exist. This emphasizes the reason why the irregular environmental patterns are on the rise and this has led to the evolution off environmental hazards which cause scenarios such as global warming.

The continued lack of direct environment improvement is also another consequence. This has been contributed by the total lack of objectivity and truthfulness in the public statements and advice issued by engineers.

The mass aversion from a people friendly environment is also a consequence of lack of environmental impact assessment. According to Woods, (2006) the professional advice given by engineers contributes greatly towards the beliefs and attitudes of individuals in a certain geographical set up towards their immediate environment.

Lack of sound environmental conservation measures is also another major problem that is experienced due to lack of environmental assessment. This has been contributed by the fact that engineers have made it a habit to compete with others and thus evolution of unethical environmental practices.

A major consequence of lack of environmental impact assessment according to Woods (2006) is environmental complete destruction of the different ecosystems. This is due to the unprofessionalism, corruption and frauds that are done by most engineers.
