Desicions That Made Me Who I Am Today

In life we make many decisions. The three decisions that I have made that makes me who I am are the choice to be lesbian, going back to school for graphic design, and the decision to become a tattoo artist. I have made many decisions in my life like having kids and getting married, but these three decisions are the one that I made to become the person I am. I made the decision to date females instead of males when I was fifteen. I was going to a small school at the time and it made a lot of people uncomfortable. I gave it a lot of thought and decided it was only fair to be true to myself.

I had dated a few guys in the past and did not feel comfortable. After some careful thought and soul searching I decided to have my first girlfriend. We had not been dating long when I realized I was much more comfortable in a lesbian relationship. I am aware that not all people agree with being gay. That is why this decision is the biggest one I have made. I now have a wonderful wife and five great kids, because I chose to be who I am. I have to say I do not regret making this decision and would not change who I am if I could. For a long time I felt like I had not done enough in my life.

This is when I decided to enroll in online college classes. I have always been a good artist and love drawing unique designs. So it was easy to pick what degree I was going to get. By getting a graphic design degree I could continue doing what I love and support my family at the same time. The degree will also help me to one day open my own tattoo shop. I am now in my second semester of college and I am very happy that I made the decision to further my education. We have five boys and I hope that they will see how important college is and want to go someday themselves.

I never thought going to college would be possible for me and now I know it is. I no longer have the feeling that I could do more with my life, I am just doing it. At a small age I developed the love for drawing. Art was one of those things that just came natural to me. When I was eighteen my dad told me I should learn to tattoo my art onto people. He then taught me how to make a homemade tattoo gun. After we made the gun I began practicing by giving myself tattoos. For years I used a homemade gun and did tattoos for friends and family.

It was not until I met my wife a year ago that I decided to become a professional tattoo artist. She purchased me my first professional gun with her income tax money and I taught myself how to use it. I recreantly asked someone I know that is a tattoo artist how much money it will cost me to get my tattoo license. They informed me that it cost ten grand just to do my apprentice ship. Then I still have to pay to take the test to get an actual license. Ten thousand dollars is a lot of money, but I know if I work hard I can come up with the money I need to make my dreams come true.

The decision to get a graphic design degree was one that would help me to get a good job that pays well, so I can get my tattoo license. The three most important decisions I have made in my life have been the best decisions I have made. I now have a great family and wonderful wife because of my decision to date females. My dreams of getting a higher education and becoming a professional tattoo artist are also coming true. I now feel that if you dream something it can become true as long as you make the right decisions in life to put you on the right path. In life we make many decisions but it is the big ones that make us who we are.
