Opportunities Demographics – young and middle aged population is an opportunity for Intel Corporation because they access the internet by wireless means, such as using a laptop, mobile device, game console, or MP3 player. Also rising levels of accessing internet on a mobile handset shows a great opportunity for Intel Corporation. New markets for products – Atom processor, Developing countries are an opportunity for Intel Corporation because the next-generation Intel® Atom™ processor is platform for netbooks and nettops.

The first crop of Atom-based computers, released last year, was designed to win over customers in places such as rural China and India. Instead, consumers in the US and Western Europe snapped them up to use as extra PCs. Now INTEL Corporation is getting ready for the second crop of customers in developing countries to buy more personal computers (PCs). The number of mobile phone subscribers in South Asia is expected to break the 453. 3 million-mark by end of 2009; an 18. 4 percent jump from the last year is a great opportunity for Intel Corporation.

New Technologies are an opportunity for Intel Corporation because (a) the groundbreaking low-power microarchitecture, the Intel® Atom™ processor powers small, sleek Internet devices designed to go where you go. When all you need is to stay online so you can keep in touch with friends or follow your favorite Web sites, netbooks with the Intel Atom processor deliver convenience and flexibility in an incredibly small, amazingly smart package. (b) Netbooks and nettops combined with broad-reaching communications networks such as WiMAX – can help bridge the digital part. c) Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) cinema has proven a surefire way to ignite interest in cinema and get movie lovers off the couch and into a theater seat. (d) Intel® vPro™ technology creates a powerful platform in which security and manageability go hand in hand. Since manageability is a crucial aspect of an enterprise’s network, it is extremely important to secure the manageability infrastructure against attacks from outside and inside the network. (e) Increasing manageability, security, and flexibility in IT environments, virtualization technologies like hardware-assisted Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT)? ombined with software-based virtualization solutions provide maximum system utilization by consolidating multiple environments into a single server or PC. Changes in regulatory / tax burdens are an opportunity for Intel Corporation because active involvement of finance and accounting in making decisions that affect the various operating units as a business partnership to deliver above-average financial and business results, thereby increasing shareholder value. The relative position of the company’s largest competitors is a threat to Intel Corporation because when mainstream computer requirements are concerned, an AMD CPU and AMD 780G based motherboard just offer more value when weighed against a comparable Intel CPU and Intel G45 motherboard. Also, [who? ]is going to split itself in two in the belief that competing with Intel is easier done with two heads instead of one. Technological advances in the industry (if the company isn’t keeping pace) are a threat to Intel Corporation because nowadays, a new CPU fab costs two billion dollars and two years in time.

Having money is not enough; you need to have started spending that money two years ago to produce chips today. New technologies that threaten to displace the company’s products are a threat to Intel Corporation because technology advances pretty quick and Intel Corporation has to keep up with the competitors and market to be a winner. Downturn in semiconductor industry is a threat to Intel Corporation because Gartner says in 2009 semiconductor industry will experience consecutive years of declining revenue for the first time in its history.

Rising energy costs and global environmental concerns are threat to Intel Corporation because energy efficiency in large data centers is already a concern for many businesses because of the high density of energy consumption. Rising energy costs and global environmental concerns have prompted Information Technology (IT) professionals to also take a closer look at client personal computer (PC) energy consumption. Issues with regulatory commissions are threat to Intel Corporation because European commission found Intel Corporation as guilty of antitrust violations in the market for PC microprocessors and fined it €1. 6 billion ($1. 44 billion). Any such activities could pull Intel Corporation’s performance and image. Recession is a threat to Intel Corporation because over all consumer spending will be down. Intel’s chief executive Paul Otellini has claimed that the company is “coming out” of the recession, and that he expects the desktop PC industry to sell as many PCs this year as it did in 2008. I am talking about a well planned Financial or Legal trouble Intel could create against their competitors to be a market leader – Internal factor. I am talking about using Acquisitions as a tool for the reason of increasing their operations and with that their profit – Internal Factor. By proper planning, Intel could use the Government regulations or Tax breaks as on opportunity.
