Is War Really Justified?
Is war justified? - Is War Really Justified? introduction?? That is one of the biggest questions that the whole nation has been asked. There are some countries that hate war, some love it and prepare their very own kids for war at a very young age. The United States tries to stay out of war, but as in World War II, we got dragged into the war because of Japan’s’ attack on Pearl Harbor. It is totally worth all the sacrifices of life and money in order to win a war and regain peace with other countries. There are two ways of settling a dispute against another country: discussion and by physical force.
In an argument with another country, the country must first try to discuss things and try to avoid going to war with them. If trying to work it out with the other country fails then war is most likely the next option that will occur next. “We must resort to force only in case we may not avail ourselves of discussion” (Cicero …). If everyone does not go to war after the discussion failed, then there will not be peace between the soldiers and the other country which will not help later for trade purposes or any other economic, political, or intellectual chances that would have benefitted any country in the future. The only excuse, therefore, for going to war is that we may live in peace unharmed” (Cicero …). Even if war is the next best option after trying to work it out with that other country, war is not an easy thing to deal with and there will definitely be huge sacrifices in some case and there is also the chance that any country might lose the war. “Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped, and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely” (Eisenhower …). Going into a war the soldiers know that they will lose men, weapons, and mostly, money.

Before a country goes into a war, they make sure that there is no other way to prevent it, and if they find no reason, go all in for the war and fight the hardest that the soldiers can. If every soldier fights their hardest then the war will be a faster war, a less expensive war, and also fewer men will die. Most countries would absolutely love to stop war and just have peace with the world. To stop war, however, would be almost impossible. The nation is so used to fighting wars that it is the natural instinct to declare war as soon as someone insults your country. …can global war now be outlawed from the world? If so, it would mark the greatest advance in civilization…” (MacArthur …). It is a known fact that most humans are made fighters and have fighting as a natural instinct against people who challenge them. If war was stopped then there would be peace around the world, trade would flourish, and everyone would get along. “…but it would mean that the great roadblock now existing to the development of the human race would have been cleared” (MacArthur …).
On December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor, one of the most memorial times in history occurred. This was during the time of World War II and the United States did not want to get into the war. Then on that December morning, the Japanese attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor and made some of the worst damage that the United States has ever had occur to it in its history. “The raid killed 2,403 Americans and wounded 1,178” (Roberts). After Pearl Harbor we increased security greatly to try and not let another episode like that never happen again.
We then declared war on Japan and that was one of the times that the United States got pulled into a war without provoking any violence. That was one of the times where war was absolutely necessary and the United States proved that its country was not to be messed with. War is justified because of the discussion that happens after the war is done and with the terms of what happens to each country after one wins and the other, unfortunately, loses. The two countries would then reach an agreement about how they are then going to get along or at least try to get along and not fight anymore.
