Paragraph 1: Introduction In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, one of the main characters, Lady Macbeth changes quite drastically. Macbeth, Lady Macbeth’s husband is predicted to become king of Scotland by three witches and she believes it is true. Lady Macbeth convinces her husband take that title when he is still contemplating the idea and he agrees before he can come to his senses. Lady Macbeth at first begins to convince Macbeth into things that ultimately lead to their downfall, but as Macbeth gains more power she becomes more reserved and womanly.

Paragraph 2: How Lady Macbeth is in the beginning of the play. Quote #1: “The raven himself is hoarse that croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan under my embattlements” (1. 5. 45-47). -Paraphrase of that quote: “The messenger announces the entrance of Duncan into my house, where he will die” (1. 5. 45-47) – This is Lady Macbeth talking to herself, thinking murderous thoughts. -Quote #2: “When in swinish sleep their drenched natures lie as in a death, what cannot you and I perform upon th’ unguarded Duncan? ”(1.
