Prayer in School
John wants prayer in school, and Mary does not. Describe a compromise position you think John and Mary might agree on. The First Amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. There are so many different religions in the world.
One compromise I think John and Mary might agree on is having set times during the day. If John wants to pray, she can pray silently so that she is not disturbing the routine of the class. Preferably during the planning period. As I remember in class the planning period lasted for about 20 minuets in the morning. Being that Mary does not want to be involved in the prayers, she can spend her planning period out side the classroom during that time. I would suggest going the library during that time.

I would also suggest that all school information be provided to her. To Identify a problem Mary may feel that she is being discriminated against due religious beliefs Being out of the planning period may deny her of being social with other students in that setting. There is not any one way to deal with this situation. If one must pray at home with family and those who share the same beliefs. One other way John can pray is on his lunch break with those who believe as he believes. identify any problems that position might encounter.
