Upon seeing the creation of Dutch master Rembrandt, I became really fascinated with the painting. It depicts the artistic way of the painter as he put into images what had happened in that glorious event. The image made me look upon Christ as one great God who will never leave his people in times of a great storm.

The miracle in the painting clearly manifest Christ’s unconditional love for man. No one should be shaken in times of a great storm because he is with us. The colors blended in the painting were almost perfect because it combines light and dark colors which represents good and evil. Amidst the dark clouds and the raging waves in the sea, there in the center are different people who show different reaction on the dreadful event. Some are holding on to the sails of the boat because they are afraid of falling down and getting drowned. Most subjects on the left side are almost captured by the waves and looking on the painting at first glance, one could have taught that no one will survive. But on the other side of the boat, Christ is seated calmly and talks to the other passengers. He is not seen with any kind of nervousness or tension despite of the weather condition and the position of the boat. It also shows that people on the right side are more than those people who are seated on the left side. I assume that most people still opts for being at the right place with God rather than stay on the left side and be shaken with fear.

The painter indeed capture the moment in full colors. It suggests that nothing should be worried about because Christ will always calm whatever storms that we have in our lives.
