As more people joined, it was starting to get quite violent: Sampson and Gregory, followed by their supporters, on one side; and Abraham and Balthasar, also followed by their supporters, on the other side. It was a little boy, apparently lost in the middle of this quarrel. He came up to me and told me he had lost his mum and his sister in the middle of all this agitation. I felt really sorry for him; moreover, he was very young, probably around five years old or so. So I just left my last bag there because everyone was then just taking fruits and vegetables from it, I made the little boy sit on the donkey, and we started to walk around in the market, to see if we could find his mother and sister. We couldn’t find them, we walked in a circle, and went back to the market square.
No one was running anymore, everything more quiet: the Prince had arrived and had separated the two enemies. He was telling both Montagues and Capulets that the next time such a fight happened again, their lives would pay for it. I also noticed that Lord and Lady Montague and Capulet had arrived. At few metres from the group listening to the Prince, there were some people lying down. I went to see what was going on, together with the boy and the donkey. There were actually wounded people, but luckily no one was very badly hurt.
