Transfer application Essay
Denis Diderot, a French Philosopher in the 18th century once said, “Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things.” By this, he meant that you can not enjoy doing some thing unless you really love doing it, or if you are willing to do it - Transfer application Essay introduction. My passion is reading. I can confidently say that reading has had a huge influence on my life. Be it a history book, a novel, a magazine, or a news paper that am reading. As long as the book contains informative or interesting information that will be of any help to me, then I will read it. I am not saying that I have read all the books that exist, no. I just try to find as much time as I can to read at least a book in a month or two, depending on the volume.

How reading has impacted my life.
Someone once told me that the more you read, the more, you discover and understand the people and that world around you, because reading is the source of knowledge in life. I know that this is true, because you can be learned, yet without a high school diploma or a university degree. In life, a mere piece of paper can not be helpful to you as much as knowledge would. What am trying to say is that although my class performance is not that bad, reading has helped me to make major decisions in my life that I would otherwise have made wrongly if I were not a lover of books. I have also learnt to extract lessons from the books I have read and tried to apply them in my life.
Reading has influenced my writing. There is this teacher in high school who would tell us to read as many books as we can to improve our writing and communication skills. I had not known then that reading would actually benefit me in such a big way. Nowadays, I have come to realize that when I don’t read, I always find it hard to write essays, in class. My communication skills have also improved, although this depends on the person I am talking to. For example, reading a poetic book influences your way of viewing and understanding a situation. A person who doesn’t read will always look at the surface meaning of what people say to him, or of what he sees. However, readers always look for the deeper meaning of every situation or comment from other people because they are fast to understand and criticize it. Reading is a way of exercising my brain. Experts say that the brain is a muscle and the more you exercise it, then the stronger it becomes. Reading academic books helps me understand my school work better, and has helped me improve my academic performance.
When I am stressed, I read a lot because it makes me forget my problems and escape to another world. When in such a situation, I prefer to read a book where the main character has had many problems but in the end overcomes them all. Reading such books has also taught me to face difficult situations in my life, and to overcome problems or obstacles, so that in the end I will find happiness. At times, when I don’t have anyone to talk to about my personal life, I read a book where the character faced trials or made errors, and somehow, I end up finding solutions to my problems or at least get an idea of how to tackle the problem.
Reading for pleasure has also impacted my life. Instead of involving myself in activities that might lead me to problems like drug influence or irresponsible behaviors, I prefer to spend my free time reading. Reading is my hobby, so whenever am tired or have nothing to do, I prefer to relax and read my books, rather than laze around or watch television. The practice of reading has been of help to me especially in my teenage years. I have read some books related to teenage behavior and have known what to do, how to behave, choose my friends among other benefits.
My favorite activity
My most favorite activity is involvement in clubs. I love clubs and have been involved in them at high school. I also participate in the club activities at my home place. Being a member of a club, you get to involve in activities that are fun, besides the co- curricular activities. Clubs give me a sense of belonging, because I find students with the same likes as mine and can identify with them. Making more friends is also a reason why I love involving myself in clubs; sharing among the club members brings them together and at times strong friendships are formed. Clubs are also important in improving my self esteem and self confidence.
My dream is to be a professional in my career field. One of the reasons I choose to transfer to USC is because of its reputation in the courses it offers. At USC, I will have a variety of courses to choose from like economics, finance, journalism or entrepreneurship. Since USC offers a wide variety of courses, I will have a good choice of what to specialize in. This way, I will be majoring in a course that is in line with my career and attain the professionalism that I want. Am also interested in learning at the university, and being taught by the lecturers I have read about or heard of their good reputation.
Reasons for transferring to USC
I am planning to transfer to USC because I prefer the curriculum offered there than the one at my current college. I have always wanted to have a degree from USC; the curriculum offered there is better and will be of quality preparation for me and my career opportunity. I’ve also heard people talk of USC’s good reputation, and I want to experience my college life at USC. I love the culture and social situation of the university. USC meets my social life style; I want to meet new people and make friends with my classmates. Finally, I love the location, the clean, serene, friendly and inviting environment of USC.
