Finally, the wind and conditions were perfect, and my nerves were growing like an agitated ant farm. I couldn’t stop thinking about the clear blue water, the powerful crashing waves, and the slight pain of sand blowing against my skin. The fresh smell of seaweed added to the whole experience. This wasn’t just another sport; it was a passion, an obsession even.

An irrepressible fixation that occupies my thoughts night and day. A void inside me is only satisfied when I am fully immersed in the water, with the wind rushing against my face. The waves beneath my board and the saltwater on my skin give me a sense of completeness.

At last, the moment arrived for me to return to my natural environment. Impatiently waiting in the car alongside my father, I should have been attentive to his words, but how could I? I was about to embark on an exhilarating kite surfing expedition.

Upon reaching our destination, my father assisted me in unloading all of my equipment. His warm smile conveyed his understanding of how much being in the water meant to me. Eagerly, I dashed onto the beach, relishing the feeling of sand against my skin and experiencing goose bumps caused by the wind. Pumping up the kite required substantial energy, and wearing a wetsuit made me sweat profusely; however, none of those hardships mattered because the experience was worth it all.

With my kite inflated and secure in my harness, I asked my father to launch it into the air. He always approached this task with a touch of childlike excitement. He had always wanted to join me in the activity I was about to embark on today, but it was too late for him as he could never ride the board. Holding the kite in one hand and the board in the other, I eagerly made my way towards the water, feeling its coolness. However, I firmly believed that the colder the water, the more thrilling the experience would be. As I left shore and looked back at my father shrinking in size, happiness finally overwhelmed me once again. It occurred to me that no matter how awful my day had been, this escape would always be there for me to leave everything behind and never turn back.
