Columbia University is one of the world’s leading research universities. It has been ranked first in the U.S. News & World Report college rankings every year since 1992, and it was also named in Kiplinger’s Best Values in Private Colleges for 2014-15.

The School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University trains students to be global leaders who can tackle complex issues from local communities to international institutions such as the United Nations or World Trade Organization (WTO). The school offers a Master of Arts in International Affairs degree (MAIA), which trains students for careers in government service or nonprofit organizations; nonprofit organizations located around the world; international corporations; foundations; think tanks; research institutes; advocacy groups; academia; journalism; and more.
