Mental health disorders are associated with an increased risk of substance abuse. Mental health disorders can complicate the course of chronic medical conditions. Mental health disorders are treatable, but may require long-term care and ongoing support. In some cases, mental health disorders may lead to suicide attempts or completed suicide; therefore, it is important to seek help if you or someone you know is in crisis.
