Many immigrants face discrimination and injustice due to their undocumented status. Trump administration is trying to pass law to block access to abortions by undocumented immigrant teens, under the age of 18. Passing this law would violate Supreme Court laws on abortion and nullifies a young woman’s ‘right to make her own reproductive choices’. This law could put many young girls into danger because they are desperate, so they would turn to abortion pills or other illegal ways to get rid of the child in her womb. V.This is unconstitutional and injustice because United States represents ‘land of freedom’, so everyone should be able to make their own free choices. VI.Conclusion: Reconfirm what I was talking about, and restate my thesis one more timeKey term in this paper is ‘Injustice’. According to Merriam-Webster it means, violation of right or absence of justice. Injustice can be seen in everyday lives. Injustice comes in various forms, where the norms of procedural justice, distributive justice, or human rights are violated. American has long history of biased immigration policies. Since long time ago, immigrants had to face discrimination and lost many human rights. Many of their human rights are taken away when they move to US and start a life as an immigrant. Most of the times, they can not even say anything even though they get mistreated or face discrimination because of their status as an immigrant. For this paper, I looked through many different news articles, government post, and many people’s opinion about this certain issue. I looked for articles for both pros and cons in this issue. After reading both, I believed it is not right to take away someone’s freedom to make choices. Then looked for more articles about ‘why Trump administration should not pass this law’. Passing this law about blocking access to abortions by immigrant teens would show injustice since many of their basic human rights are taken away when they come over to US and decide to live a life as an immigrant. First of all, everyone should be able to make their own choices under the law of human rights. According to ACLU, they stated discrimination based on immigration status is violation of human rights, “Numerous international human rights documents firmly establish the principle that no human being can be “illegal” or outside the protection of the law. Yet despite the clearly established principle that discrimination and abuse based on immigration

status are violations of human rights, U.S. government policies continue to sanction human rights violations against migrants and immigrants”. Another reason why Trump administration should not pass that law is because many of these immigrant teens had unwanted pregnancy. Thousands of immigrants teens are in government custody and many of these young people traveled to United States in order to run away from abuse and torture in their home country. Many of these teens sexually abused or assaulted in their country or after their arrival. (Tara Murtha, 2018)The Trump administration claimed new authority to block access to abortions seek by undocumented immigrants under age 18 who are in the custody. This case brings together two of the most sensitive issues in American society, immigrant and abortion, a lawyer for immigrant teen said that “federal efforts to restrict their access to abortion were “blatantly unconstitutional”, and that Congress had never given the administration “statutory authority to veto a minor’s abortion decision”. (Robert Pear, 2018) Passing this law takes away constitutional rights, since it is taking away woman’s right to make her own reproductive choices. Forcing pregnant teens to remain pregnant against their will sacrifice their “constitutional liberty, autonomy, and personal dignity for no justifiable government reason”. (Judge Millet, 2018) To summarize what Tara Murtha had said, she said this is unconstitutional and reprehensible government intrusion into other people’s medical decision. The government is trying to coerce young immigrant woman into unwanted childbirth. This is unconstitutional and injustice because United States represents ‘land of freedom’, so everyone should be able to make their own free choices. Every person should have the ability to make the best decision for herself as well as the chance to pursue her dreams without fear of a government official or judge getting in the way. (Doe, 2017) The Constitution prohibits the

government from imposing an “undue burden” on the right to obtain an abortion. (Women’s Law Project, 2018) In conclusion, many innocent people are treated like they done something wrong or have to go through injustice and discrimination on daily basis just because of their status as an immigrant. Everyone deserves freedom of choices to make own decision about their body or medical decision. Government should not force young teenage girls to give unwanted birth because everyone deserve to be treated with respect, no matter what their status might be. CitationAmiri, B. (2018, June 04).
