The English moors are described in Wuthering Heights as being dark, dreary and foreboding. They are said to be a place where people go to die and they are home to many dark and dangerous creatures. The moors are also said to be a place of great evil. Many people believe the moors are cursed, a place of great sadness, and full of mystery. The moors play an important role in the novel Wuthering Heights because they are where Cathy and Heathcliff fall in love, where Cathy dies and is buried next to Heathcliff after she dies, and also where Linton dies when he tries to escape from his father’s house on his horse because he doesn’t want to live with him anymore after he marries Isabella Linton instead of Cathy Earnshaw (who was his true love).
