Jean-Jacques Rousseau was a philosopher who wrote about many different topics, including government. He believed that the government should be a direct democracy where everyone had an equal say. He also believed that the government should be as small as possible and only have the power to do what is absolutely necessary.
Rousseau thought that people were naturally good and that they would naturally want to do what is best for their country. He also believed that most people would want to act fairly and be just in their dealings with others. He did not believe in representative democracy where people elect representatives to make decisions for them because he felt this put too much power in the hands of a few people who did not necessarily represent everyone’s interests.
Also Rousseau believed that if all citizens were allowed to vote on every issue directly, then this would eliminate conflict within society because everyone would have an equal voice in what happened in their country. This means there would be no need for representatives or other intermediaries between citizens and their government because everyone would have equal power over the country’s affairs.
