Faust is an unusual character from the Guilty Gear series. He wears a doctor’s coat and carries an oversized syringe as his weapon of choice. His fighting style involves using various medical tools such as bandages and pills, in order to heal himself or damage his opponents.
In Guilty Gear Strive, Faust’s story takes an unexpected turn. He was sentenced to death by the US Government for crimes against humanity, but he was saved at the last minute by Kyrie – another character from the game who had been sent to kill him. Since then, Faust has been living with Kyrie in her home country of Japan. His fate remains uncertain however.
Faust is able to transform between their human form and their Gear form at will; however, there are certain disadvantages to staying in either state for long periods of time. When Faust is human, they become weaker than when they’re in their Gear form, while while they are a Gear they have difficulty feeling emotions or having normal thoughts.
Faust enters into a fighting tournament in the hopes that they will be able to find a way to undo their transformation. Unfortunately, Faust ends up losing the tournament. Luckily for Faust, however, That Man is defeated by another character named Sol Badguy, which results in That Man granting Sol with his power. Sol revives Faust so that they can continue fighting against That Man’s forces. This eventually leads to Faust sacrificing their own life in order to destroy That Man’s lair.
