Colorado State University is a research university located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Colorado State University-Fort Collins was founded in 1870 as Colorado Agricultural College, making it the oldest institution of higher learning in the state. Its agricultural and veterinary medicine programs are among the best in the nation.
