Communication is the process of sending and receiving information. It includes all forms of communication, such as language, body language, and symbols.
As defined by Wikipedia, effective communication is “the act or process of communicating effectively with another person”. It involves speaking clearly, listening actively, observing nonverbal cues and making eye contact when appropriate. It also means not interrupting while others are speaking, but waiting until they’ve finished before replying.
Active listening involves paying close attention to what someone says without interrupting them or jumping to conclusions about what they mean by their words or actions. This helps you understand what they really want to say and how they feel about it — it’s one way to avoid misunderstandings!
In order to communicate effectively:
1. Both parties must be willing to listen to and understand each other in order to communicate effectively.
2. Both parties must be open about their feelings about what they are trying to say so that there is no room for misinterpretation or miscommunication between them.
3. Both parties must respect each other’s opinions so that there is no misunderstanding about what they want from each other in terms of their relationship with one another or with others outside of their relationship.
