Rosa Parks is a hero because she fought for what she believed in and didn’t give up. She has been called “the mother of the Civil Rights Movement.” She was an active participant in the Civil Rights Movement and helped to change the course of history.
In 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white person. This sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which lasted for over a year and was a major victory for the Civil Rights Movement. After the boycott, Parks continued to work for civil rights, co-founding the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development with her husband Raymond.
She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal, among many other honors. She inspired people all over the world who are fighting for justice and equality.

Parks died in 2005 at the age of 92, but her legacy continues to live on.
