If someone asks you about what is the most popular game in Facebook or smartphones right now, what would u say? For me, I would like to say “Candy Crush Saga”. Candy Crush Saga is a game that was released on April 12, 2012 for Facebook, and then released on November 14, 2012 for smartphones. As today, Candy Crush Saga also released on October 17, 2013 for Kindle Fire. It was developed by King.com. As of March 2013, Candy Crush Saga surpassed FarmVille 2 as the most popular game on Facebook. According to abclocal.go.com, there had more than 45 million people play Candy Crush every month. It’s popular with people of all ages, especial in women. King.com, founded in 2003 in the UK, is a casual-social games company, and the largest game developer on Facebook. King develops games for the web on its website, for mobile (both iOS & Android) and Facebook. King games offer synchronized play, enabling users to connect to their Facebook account whilst playing on their smartphone or tablet device. This means that the user’s progress is updated across all platforms, allowing the player to switch from mobile, to tablet, to Facebook without losing their progress in the game. King’s most popular game to date is Candy Crush Saga, Other games from King include Bubble Witch Saga, Pet Rescue Saga, and more. Bubble Witch Saga was King’s first mobile game, released in July 2012 after its successful launch on Facebook in September 2011. The number of daily active players on the King.com network has grown from 10 million to more than 19 million. King.com offers over 150 exclusive games in 12 languages. The company releases new games every month. In March 2013, King launched 2 new games on Facebook, Farm Heroes Saga and Papa Pear Saga. For years now, the Facebook game world has been dominated by Zynga, the developer behind FarmVille and Mafia Wars. Not anymore. The fast-growing company, King.com has basically taken over the top spot in recent months with its most popular game Candy Crush Saga and attracting more than 9.7 million daily players. The game is listed in the top five grossing iPhone and iPad apps in 10 of the top markets. King.com is also announcing that it has generated over 5 billion monthly game plays across all platforms. “In less than 18 months King.com has become the second game developer on the Facebook Platform with 70 million monthly active users.

They also built what is the most popular game on Facebook right now: Candy Crush Saga, a game played by almost 10 million people every day, on Facebook.com and on mobile. Only a few technology companies in the world have reached so many people so quickly,” said Julien Codorniou, head of European gaming partnerships at Facebook. Launched in April 2012, Candy Crush Saga continues to attract millions of new players thanks to its popularity on smartphones and tablets. Currently, the game is played over 55 million times a day across mobile platforms. Candy Crush Saga is a match-three game, like Bejeweled, where players match candies to score points and complete a level. Each level is part of an episode and comes with its own particular challenge like: clear all the jelly or bring down all the ingredients. Players can combine regular candies to make special striped candy, wrapped candy, and rainbow candy for amplified movements. Lose a level, and you’ll lose a life. You only get five lives at a time, so to keep playing, players have to wait 30 minutes, have Facebook friends send more, or buy new lives. Candy crush saga makes people addictive easily. Those who play this game are hooked. When asked to pick one word to describe how she feels about Candy Crush Saga, my brother’s girlfriend, Carol, who is on level 378, said, “Addicting.” In December of last year and now plays between 30 minutes to one hour each day. She has no plans to stop playing — unless she comes across a level she can’t beat. People everywhere are addicted to Candy Crush, and it’s causing them a whole lot of problems. It’s become so popular that the game’s creator makes nearly $600,000 a day from user’s spending money to unlock new levels and gain extra moves. According to Thinkgaming, women ages 25 to 55 play the game the most, and some user say it is affecting their family life. Many moms admit to playing candy crush for up to eight hours a day. Some even say they have back problems from hunching over their cell phones.

Furthermore, they sometimes even forget to pick up their kids from school. Steph Brophy, 37 years old, a bank worker from West Malling, she is a Candy Crush addict. She started playing only five weeks ago, but says she’s already losing sleep over it. Candy crush addicted is not only happening in women ages 25-55, it’s also happening in our ages. Therefore, I am here to provide the candy crush players some signs that you might be addicted on Candy Crush too. 1. You have your computer, iPhone, iPod, and iPad all next to you so you can get fresh lives. 2. You send texts to your friends at all hours and when they don’t respond immediately, you are angry. 3. You do stuff like this to yourself.

4. You scream out puzzling things like I HATE CHOCOLATE!
5. You dream about it.
6. You search YouTube for walk-throughs even though they are useless. In conclusion, look around any busy train or bus and it seems every other person with a smartphone or tablet is hooked on Candy Crush Saga. As you can imagine, a game this popular will inevitably bring out the crazy in people, rendering them prone to addictive behaviors. If you count yourself a Candy Crush holdout, you’ve probably been warned by friends not to start playing, because once you do, you won’t be able to stop. If you really do, you should control yourself to be not addicted. For me, I can say I am not candy crush addict, because I don’t spend money on it and I play candy crush just for fun.
