My American Dream You define your own American Dream. Throughout my childhood I saw the American Dream as living in a big house with lots of money. I now realize that the saying “less Is more” is true. As I have grown older my view of the dream has changed. I now view the dream as being able to be happy with the life that you have. The American Dream means something different to everyone. For some It may be getting easy money, while for others It may be achieved through hard work.
Views on the American Dream vary greatly between each unique Individual. Many people believe he dream has changed from Its traditional view, hard work and determination, to getting “easy” money. People believe getting this “easy money Is based off of luck, through game shows, lotteries, and lucrative laws. Other people still believe In the traditional view of the dream. I believe more In this view of the dream. Getting “easy- money can be nice, until it’s gone that is. “Easy” money will all come to you at once, but you will not have a steady income to keep that money.
Through the traditional view anyone can achieve the American Dream and keep it. This is the way I plan to achieve my American Dream. To me the American Dream isn’t all about money. I see the American Dream as being able to be happy with the life you have. I also believe that “the American Dream says that anything can happen if you work hard enough at it and are persistent, and have some ability. The sky is the limit to what you can build, and what can happen to you and your family” (Sanford l. Well).
Briefly my American Dream is to graduate college, become a nurse, get married, have children, and help other people. More into detail my dream will begin at college, hopefully West Chester University, or University of Pittsburgh. After graduating allege my dream will take me to North Carolina, where I will get married, and have two children. I would also like to go to Africa through nursing and help children there. Outside of nursing I would like to continue my cheerleaders passion by become a cheerleaders coach.
Through hard work I know my dream can be reached. Some people believe in the greedier version of the dream, which is getting ‘easy” money. While other people, like myself, believe in the more traditional view of hard work and determination. Through hard work I plan to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse with a husband and two kids, helping children In Africa, and becoming a heralding coach on the side. I know my dream will be achieved If I keep working towards It and never give up! Is more” is true. As I have grown older my view of the dream has changed.
