If you are dealing with a child you might eave to listen more than talk so you understand what they want or need. Communication skills are not always about talking to each other sometimes it takes other things to communicate with each other. This is why we need to work on these skills all the time. Positive communication skills can improve your life in many ways. If you are up for a promotion and go to the interview for that job and have good communication skills you probably wouldn’t worry to much about how you will respond to the questions or how to professionally communicate with these people.
Therefore you will be more confident in the interview and you will be more apt to get the promotion if you show these skills in the interview. When dealing with people who are mad or angry if you have a positive attitude and can communicate in a positive way you might be able to defuse a volatile situation and calm these people down. If you have a positive attitude at work or in life in general people will be more likely to listen and talk to you.
You will learn more respect if you are a Supervisor if you deal with people with a positive attitude and good communication skills, and you will get more respect from people who work under you. Negative communication can affect your personal life and your professional life. If you are negative all the time people around you will not want to deal with you. If you are a Supervisor this is a bad thing because you will never get any respect and the people will not want to work for you. If you have negative communication you probably won’t get promoted, and will be stuck in a position that you probably already don’t like.
If you are always negative in your personal life this affects you at home and in public. Your family members probably don’t want to deal with you if you are negative all the time and they will tend to be negative back to you. If you are negative in public people will not want to deal with you, this affects you at stores, restaurants, school and really any public place. Negative communication can also lead to verbal or violent altercations and these are never good. My goals for this course are to be a better communicator and a better listener. Owe that I need to work on my interview skills and communication, but I also need to learn how to be a better listener, so I can be a better communicator. I also want to learn the do’s and don’t of communicating. I need to get better at my body language and how to control my voice in all situations. My last goal for this class is to come away with something new, something that I did not know about communicating. I want to learn how to be a better communicator so I can become a better professional and better person.
