Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist who painted her experiences. She started painting at a young age and continued painting throughout her life until she died in 1954. She was known for her self-portraits, which are often considered to be some of the most important works of art from the 20th century.

In her lifetime, Frida Kahlo painted around 143 paintings. However, this number does not include the many sketches that she created or the drawings that were never completed into paintings.
The number of works that remain is impressive, especially considering that Kahlo had a rather difficult life — she suffered from polio and other diseases, which led her to have several miscarriages and stillbirths. She also suffered from intense pain due to a serious car accident when she was 18 years old.
Despite all these obstacles, Kahlo produced several important works of art during her lifetime that are now considered masterpieces. She was born with a club foot and did not learn how to walk until age 6. Her education was limited because she was unable to attend school due to various health issues; as a result, she spent much of her early life reading books at home.
