Why is Martin Luther King a Hero?

Updated: November 28, 2022
He is a hero because he fought for what he believed in and he inspired others to do the same.
Detailed answer:

Martin Luther King Jr. was a hero for many reasons, but perhaps the most important reason is that he fought for equal rights for African Americans. He believed that all people should be treated equally and have the same rights, regardless of their race or religion.

Many people do not know that Martin Luther King Jr. was not only an activist but also a pastor and leader of the Civil Rights Movement in America. He led peaceful protests against discrimination and segregation, which were laws in some states that made it illegal for blacks and whites to mix together socially or attend school together.

King’s most famous speech is probably his “I Have a Dream” speech, which he gave at the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.. In this speech he talked about how someday black Americans would no longer be treated as second-class citizens by white people. He also called for economic equality between blacks and whites by ending discrimination in hiring practices and fair wages paid to all workers regardless of their race or gender.

Martin Luther King continues today because his name is used as an example of bravery by other activists who fight for equal rights for everyone.
