She is sitting in an upright position, and her left arm is resting on the left armrest of the chair with her right arm crossed in front of her. Another unusual feature of the Mona Lisa, is her lack of eyebrows and eyelashes. Although scans indicate that she had both, it could have been the color pigment that was used for these facial features faded. And, the background landscape looks to be an aerial perspective with no defined vanishing point.

In the1960’s, the painting went on a tour where it was given an insurance value of $100 million.
