People say, “a hero is someone who saves the world from disaster,” while others say, “a hero is someone who is strong, and can beat up anybody.” We all have different opinions on what a hero is. But, In my description a hero is someone that is courageous, clever, unselfish, and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
Heroes have qualities that stand out, and to me courage, and being able to fight for what you believe in, are qualities that make up a hero. Not to mention, being intelligent and unselfish. Being courageous, is having the ability to do something that’s a challenge, and to be able to overcome, or at least attempt to overcome a challenge without backing down; without quitting. Being able to stand up for what you believe in means to, fight for what you believe is fair; to fight for rights. Being intelligent, is to show understanding towards a problem. Last but not least, unselfishness has to do with the decisions you make, being selfish is to make decisions that only better you. To be unselfish is to make a decision that is best for everyone.
To me a man who has stuck out in American history to be a hero was Martin Luther King Jr. This man, not only contains my qualities of a hero but has so many more great qualities. King exceeds greatness. He showed great courage while fighting for what he believed in, and he knew what would be best for all, and was smart when approaching this issue. He fought for the rights of African-American citizens, he said that all men were created equal no matter what. He was the main reason all people are treated equally.
All in all, everyone has their own opinion on a hero, and you just heard what I think a hero is made of. Heroes can vary from a gas station clerk, to a famous actor. Anyone has the opportunity to be a hero somehow, someway.
