Ann Coulter is a person made of many different colors. The composition and pattern of these colors are very complex. She is not a conventional or traditional woman rather she has a very strong and radical personality. She has an independent soul and she loves and feels proud of her individuality. In politics, theology and sociological thinking she depends more on her independent thoughts then on the rest of the world. She is a famous writer, critic, journalist and intellectual. Such a varied personality is an enigma and a mystery yet to be solved to the whole world. Let us discuss her life in detail.

The lawyer and writer, Ann Coulter is born on 8th August 1961 in the New York City of the United States. Her father John Vincent Coulter (5, May1926 to 4, Jan 2008) was a Catholic while the sect of her mother Nell Husbands Martin (23, February 1928) is not known. Ann Coulter herself is silent about the religious orientations of her mother. It is believed that she is a protestant while Ann Coulter did not make it clear to the world that to which sect of Christianity does she belongs. She enriched her minds by studying at famous institutions. She graduated from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and gets the degree of law from University of Michigan Law School. In this prestigious institution she was also the editor of ‘The Michigan Law Review’. (NNDB)

She carried on her private law practice for a time in the New York City. Then she devoted some time working for the Senate Judiciary Committee in collaboration with Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan, her special interest was in the issues and problems related with crime and immigration. Here her political and civil consciousness enhanced and mental horizons broadened as she becomes a litigator with the Center for Individual Rights in Washington, DC, which was a public interest law firm.

This firm dealt with the defense of individual rights and laid special emphasis on the issues of civil rights, freedom of speech and liberty to entertain and accept any religious ideology or sect. The Ann Coulter also remained attached with the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Then she also served in the position of attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for the shinning graduates of the law school.

She wrote numerous fascinating books including a large number of best sellers. The list of book penned by her includes, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans, Godless: The Church of Liberalism , How to talk to a Liberal (If You Must), Treason: Liberal Treachery From the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right, and High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton.

These books were very famous and liked immensely by the readers. Her style of writing enamored the readers and the way she elaborate, analyze and discus the subjects is parallel by none. Her grip on the subjects of her books is very great and it is seldom that we encounter any looseness in her mastery of the discussions. Readers felt her books comprehensive, convincible and understandable. In addition to that she was the editor of the renowned “The Michigan Law Review”, and a correspondent of the famous journal “Human Events”. Her endeavors in the journalistic field of writing gave her immense popularity and recognition.

Ann Coulter adored the television screens from time to time as she was invited for a large number of times as a guest on many programmes including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show, The Glen Beck Show, and HBO’s Real Time. The viewers felt greatly delighted to see her and listen to her wise counsels and discussion on the screen of their televisions. She discussed the topics of discussions in a very detailed way and lively manner. Her manner of talk was very absorbing and keeps the viewers glued on the edge of their seats.

Another honor on the large and glaring list of Ann’s honors is the she was discussed as the cover story for the April 25, 2005 issue of the Time magazine, titled “Ms. Right — Fair and balanced she isn’t”. In 2001 Ann Coulter was also declared as one of the top hundred Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner.

Her religious views are very interesting in the sense that she says that she is a Christian but to which sect of Christianity is something foggy  and she does not care to explain it further. She vouchsafed at an instant of public speaking that “I don’t care about anything else, Christ died for my sins and nothing else matters.”  (Olasky, 2005) Then in a column that she wrote in 2004 she throw bright light on her opinion regarding the religion-Christianity that “Jesus’ distinctive message was: People are sinful and need to be redeemed, and this is your lucky day because I’m here to redeem you even though you don’t deserve it, and I have to get the crap kicked out of me to do it.” (Coulter, 2004)

She, the strange person, then also made fun of some of the most important beliefs of Jesus Christ. She has also been showered by the allegations of a non-Christian person. The persons who laid the allegations are right to some extent in the sense that her views are glaringly different and anti-traditional. She spoke back to a writer who criticizes her for speaking and writing non-conventional religious views in these words she is Christian first and a conservative after that.

She hated strongly the persons who are hypocrites. She hated them simply because they profess one thing and do completely opposite things. She write about them and their allegations against her in these words, “Christianity fuels everything I write.” (De Pasquale, 2006) She does not believe in the Darwin’s theory of Evolution and is of the view that this denouncement of Darwin makes her adorers feel strongly that she is conservative and traditionalist and a devout Christian.

Anne Coulter harbors radical views and aired them without any fear. She speaks her mind openly and plainly without caring or fearing the repercussions. For her transgressions she was repeatedly fired from many jobs, for instance she was fired from MSNBC as she told the president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, who himself was a disabled Vietnam expert, “No wonder you guys lost.” Then she was fired from the journal ‘National Review’ for the reason that she presented her opinion about the solution of Muslim problem. She is not one thing at a time, in reality she is many things together at the same time, at the same instant.

Not only religiously but Ann Coulter is also a political radicalist. She spoke her mind openly in the politics too. During the reign of Clinton she sided with the person who sued against the president. She becomes an unpaid legal advisor for the attorneys representing Paula Jones in her sexual harassment case against Bill Clinton. Then in 1999 and 2000 she thought of running for the political post, siding with Congress from Connecticut. But later she changed her decision. In the present times she criticizes John McCain and is in favor of Hillary Clinton for her political views.
