His consideration for the feelings Of other as well as his own continues throughout the rest Of the b k.

After Francesco death, Carlo faces the reality of war. Cards love for Frances blinded his ability to see the brutality and difficulties of war. What had been more “like a game, a challenge of manhood, a matter of honor… ” Soon became “an appalling re laity. ” (33) As if his love had never vanished, Carlo meets Cornell, and considers him a “small Mir scale… A source of optimism, a clear fountain, a kind of saint, a man of honor. ” (160) Cornell doe s not replace Francesco, but is a new source of admiration for Carlo.

Remember me. Carlo. ” (313) Carlo was a hero whose actions will not be forgotten by the people of Cephalic onion. His bravery shifts Weeper’s act of murder to an act of sacrifice.

Mantras and Carlo, though opposite characters, both suffer the loss of a love Mantras, Pelagic and Carlo, Cornell and Francesco) and end with premature deaths. The two minor characters impacted the others and show the positive and negative sides to 10 vying too much. Coracle’s Mandolin is a tragedy in which everybody suffers by the end of the b ask. No individual goes untouched, and the characters of are all negatively impacted by war and love. The book demonstrates how a war can not only physically destroy a community, but e notionally tear people apart; showing that there is no love in war.
