Distinguished council members of this city, I, a concerned citizen of this progressing city would like to express my concern through this written testimony regarding the anti-drug campaigns and measures we are facing today. Hoping that in one way or another, this written concern can help our city, battle drug addiction and stop it in its tracks.
There are many types of drugs as discussed by Kerby Anderson1 , alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, hallucinogens and synthetic drugs, all having different side effects. The use of drugs and other related vices are frowned upon by most societies including ours. In order to prevent further addiction to these drugs, I would like to present and commend the proposal of having treatment services or rehabilitation centers in our city. These treatment services are equipped with the right medication, programs and the most up-to-date facilities to cater the needs of people from different walks of life to be guided and be well-informed regarding drugs and its long-term effects.
I understand the skepticism in terms of money regarding the matter. Since the city needs to hire several psychologists, buy the appropriate medications needed to help the patients detach from their addiction, and even maintain the facilities and programs needed for this kind of treatment. All these things do not come cheap. Although it may cost the city much, but every penny is definitely worth it.
Once these treatment facilities are established, many will be knowledgeable and can do away with these drugs. And those who are addicted to drugs can approach these treatment facilities, and seek help, with the right people and the right medication, recovery will surely follow. In addition, unforeseen dangers can be prevented such as accidents, loss of family ties, and loss of social, spiritual and mental well-being and most importantly these treatment facilities can prevent death.

Hoping that the police may have a positive response regarding the matter. Considering that the main concern of this proposition are the lives of the individuals living in our city.
