Hey sounds like you have a busy schedule! Hang in there! Well, in response to Nathan, yes, God created all of nature but that dose not mean everything is divine. Man and woman were made in the image of God for the purpose of having fellowship with him and each other but we are not one with God like Hinduism claims. If everything was divine then in reality nothing would be divine. We were divinely created, but we bear the marks of rebellion. We sinned and therefore damaged our divine-human relationship with God.
According to Islam, humans are not enslaved to sin and can resist it with help from God but as Christians we believe hat sin is intrinsic in our nature and invades our lives. To answer your question about the trinity, there is only one God who exists in three equal persons: the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. This does not imply that 1=3 because that does not make sense. The New Testament shows that Jesus is God incarnate, as he said himself, “l and the Father are one” which people saw as his claim to being God.
To respond to Sarah’s question, God is not a human invention. He is not a figment of our imagination or a man made creation to help us all feel safer. God’s existence is to dependent on us. Our belief in him does not make him come and go when we feel like it. All recorded civilizations have recognized some kind of God and that is because God made us in the likeness of him and gave us a desire to fellowship with him. We will never be able to observe God in his fullness.
Take this rational for example: Physical and non-physical things do exist, morality, minds, souls and numbers alike. While physical things change, non-physical things do not: logic never changes. Another thing to understand is that evil does not exist without an objective good. If I were you I would listen to Page and let her know that religion is not a candy shop where you pick and choose what you want and don’t want and then sprinkle everlasting life on top.
Jesus said “l am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the father except through me”. The only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ who paid for you sins. If you are tolerant of everybody beliefs then who what is the point of believing in something yourself? I hope you are better equipped to answer your friends now that you know the truth! Yours truly, Dear Doug By Julia-Joseph
