Over a past years video games industry have changed drastically over the years. Video games went a pixel games to virtual reality that changed the video games industry to the next level. The graphics have dramatically changed also, went from pixel to 3D. Then economy of the video games industry revenue reaches over 36 billion dollars. This multi billion platform has so many companies that make make video games and to invest a lot of money to their products and sell their products, so companies may or may not make profit to their products.
Past and Present of Consoles
Video Games have came a long way what it was before, video games has changed a lot over the last past 50 years. The first ever video game that was created was the brown box created by Ralph H. Baer in 1967, that man was also known as the “The father of Video Games”. That console had only Sox games in that system and it was ping-pong, tennis, handball, volleyball, chase games and a light-gun game.The next big console that came out before was the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972. It was created by the same man Ralph who created the first console the brown box. The Magnavox Odyssey has two versions of it called the Magnavox Odyssey 100 and Magnavox Odyssey 200, the difference between the both consoles was the slightly better graphics from the old versions, nothing else. The man Ralph created more systems called Coleco Telstar (1976), and Fairchild channel f (1976) and even more to count. The next big company who made everyone’s childhood was Nintendo the company which eventually became a major part in the video gaming industry for the next three decades. Nintendo came out with their product in 1978-1980.
The console that they made was the Color TV Game Series, the system didn’t really do good. Later on the years the golden age of video games have changed by experimenting on new genres of video games like fighting,platform,and RPG, so that meant better consoles. The companies dominated the video game industry was Sega and Nintendo. Sega first console was the SG-1000 in 1983.It was not exactly well-known since it was mostly distributed in Asia and never launched in North America.Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) revealed in 1983 emerged victorious as the best-selling console of that generation. The struggle between the both companies domination continued they both released consoles and Segas number one console was the Mega Drive/Genesis in 1988. Then Nintendo presented the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) two years later, the console next in line after NES. In 1994, Sony finally made its entrance with the leading Playstation. Around the year 2000 Sony came out with the PlayStation and later that year Nintendo came out with the Gamecube in 2001 and then on 2004 Microsoft made the Xbox. As you know the rivalry between both the companies of Microsoft and Sony.
