There were many lasting consequences that did affect a majority of places like North America, Europe, and many others around the world thanks to the wars for empire they had. There were many wars that took place and each did have their effect on the territories, but there are some that did make major changes like the French and Indian war. The French and Indian war took place for almost 8 years earning the name of the Seven Years War. The way the war began was because known British tobacco farmers were facing stagnant tobacco prices and they were hoping to expand into the western in order for them to have a chance at stabilizing their wealth and status. Some of the tobacco farmers came together to form the Ohio Company of Virginia around the time of 1748. There was a problem in that the French had already claimed those parts where they had set up the company.
The French had been protecting the region since they made the Fort Duquesne in 1754. They had many complaints in terms of who had ownership of that land and went to war for it. The British ended up winning in the French and Indian war. The war had a good impact on the British because they got an immense expansion of territory that the British claimed as their own. The bad things that had happen are that the war had exponentially increased the debt the British had, the war also created a large amount of resentment to the colonists amongst the English Leaders due to the fact that they were not happy with the military and financial assistance they received from the colonists while the war was going on.
All of these things eventually convinced the majority of English Leaders that all of the colonies needed a big change and they also believed the central authority has to be in London. For the American colonists, they were forced to learn how to work against a common enemy and that is because before hand they had no coordination or any sort of common ground. After the war, the 13 colonies were seen as a potential threat and their next common enemy would be Britain. Now that France was removed from the equation, the American Colonists wide open space available for them to colonize, but the British thought it would be a good idea to draw a line that the American colonizers shouldn’t cross in order for the British to control.
They also wanted to send a massive army that would eventually be paid by the colonists thanks to the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, etc.… which got them very upset due to the fact that after they were being held down by the French and finally defeated them, they have to deal with the British holding them down now. On the other side of things, the Indians from the Ohio Valley, the victory the British had obtained was a disaster for them. The Indians who had allied themselves with the French had earned the hatred from the English, the Iroquois confederacy that had also worked together with the French had a slightly better ending from the war. The confederacy had eventually been crumbled to pieces from the inside. They had continued to fight for 50 years, but after that they were never again had a position to deal with their white enemies on terms of political or military equality
