In a small nation, Pakistan, there are various power blackouts. The solution is that the government of Pakistan must provide a better education for its workers and engineers in order to prevent long ten-hour power outages.
The problem of power outages is not only faced by Pakistan, but it exists in many other countries. Pakistan is among the ten underdeveloped countries that face the worst energy crisis within the world (Siddique & Wazir, 2016, p. 351). Each and every day the country faces severe power shortages ranging from 8 to 12 hours a day in urban areas and up to 18 hours in rural areas (Valasai, Uqaili, Memon, Samoo, Mirjat & Harijan, 2017, p. 734). The power outages prohibit the people from doing daily chores easily and in cool environments. The children who go to school have to study in a hot environment with no air conditioner and no fans. The women are forced to cook in their homes without any electricity (Shah, 2013, p. 2). The men go to work to earn money for their families but, their business is usually in loss because of the shortage of shoppers since there are burning hot temperatures regardless of wherever you go.
There are many solutions others have proposed to stop the power outages such as choosing a better leader who will think of the greater good of the public, or getting help from surrounding countries, or having the right resources. But the main solution would be giving a better education to the people and the workers so the country is able to develop on its own. In Pakistan, the energy consumption and industrial production and economic expansion are interrelated and power shortages may slow down the country’s economic growth (Siddique & Wazir, 2016, p. 352). The lack of electricity puts Pakistan with the underdeveloped countries, and until the problem is solved, the country can not advance.
Over the past century, the electrical power business continues to contribute to the welfare, progress, and technological advances of the humankind. The expansion of electrical energy consumption within the world has been fantastic, however, an underdeveloped country like Pakistan has not advanced in their electricity. If the workers get a better education then they will be able to find out what the problem is if an energy plant goes down or if there is a power outage due to the bad circuitry. Giving a better education to the people will greatly benefit the country as a whole because the workers would be able to search for and master new methods of producing electrical energy (Ushakov, 2018, p. 90). This will be a great start towards ending power outages entirely all around the country. Some people think that allowing China to take over Pakistan’s power supplies and rebuild them seems like a good idea. However, that would put the country in debt only causing more problems for them. The country needs to come together and solve the electricity crisis. The contribution of education is a great way for the government to step in and show some signs of improvements. The engineers would be able to build power plants that can supply low quality electricity.
In general, the low quality of electricity can be described as adjustments in energy supply, leading to disruptions of the production system or harm to electrical equipment (Ushakov, 2018, p. 168). This will not be the best energy supply, however, it will be a great start towards the high-quality electricity. The groundwork for attaining a high satisfactory of electrical energy are three components: the manufacturing of high-quality electricity, uninterrupted transmission, and distribution of dependable networks (Ushakov, 2018, p. 168). The people need to work together to solve the problem because if they do not then the country will never advance on its own. The business industry of Pakistan is shrinking due to the lack of power. There was a time when a company employed about 14,000 workers, but today the staff has shrunk to 4,500. Sales for the year ended in June are down nearly 75% to 2.17 billion Pakistani rupees, or about $20 million (Shah, 2013, p. 1). The government should not be looking for temporary or quick solutions, real solutions take time and commitment in order to be really beneficial.
The solution proposed does have flaws, the main one is being time-consuming. However, others claim that it is the loss of resources that make this solution a bad one. Some people say providing a better education is costly so who is going to pay for this program? Will it be a government investment? Higher education has been recognized as one of the major agents of socioeconomic development by all of the developed and most of the developing world (Naureen, & Lodhi, 2015, p. 97). Education is very important all around the world and it is necessary to stop the recurring problems in a country. The significance of education and the sort of education cannot be overstressed. The nation ought not to overlook that they need to rival the world which is progressing extremely quick (p. 98-99). The population in the age group of 17-23 years in Pakistan was 22 million, however, only 1.58 million out of 22 million have the access to higher education. This is mainly because of two reasons: limited capacity of the system and the poor financial state of the families. Only 3.5% percent of the total enrolled students in secondary schools go to degree colleges (p. 100). The country can not develop if only 3.5% of the population is getting a good education.
There are many things needed to stop power outages in Pakistan, but the main solution for stopping power outages is to give the country a better education, so they are able to figure out the problems in the power plants. Providing a better education to the population will not only stop power outages, but it will also help to stop other problems that the country might be facing such as economic problems. All of the developed countries offer better education, and if Pakistan wants to be among the developed countries then the government must provide better education to its engineers and workers.
