My Ideas And Steps For How To Become A Successful Postgraduate

Every day of my existence is a gift from my family who supported me with strong roots and wide wings. It all started in Kuwait where my family is put up. I grew and finished entire schooling there itself. I was provided with a great opportunity to interact with people and fellow students of different nationalities and get to know many styles. My strong desire to explore new things made every stage of life exciting and interesting. As a result, I moved to Bangalore after finishing my 12th grade in Kuwait. I took up Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and graduated from Jain College (Bangalore University – syllabus and degree).

In my third year of B.Com degree, I was graced by God with a good job through a placement program conducted by the college. I started a new phase in life at Deloitte which is one of the top firm providing premium services to their clients across the world. It has been a wonderful one year and a couple of months journey with Deloitte, a great learning experience indeed. I got a chance to learn work and how it can be executed well to receive great results. I always seek opportunities to showcase my work and abilities. I chose commerce over science in my 11th grade and proved to be the best in my class by securing the first position in academics and bagged a gold medal. Besides studies, I have participated in various competitions held at the school level and won a couple of them.

I was an active participant in the annual athletics meet conducted by our school, long jump was my favorite. Besides that, participated in javelin throws and various running races including the relay races. This approach never stopped even after joining college. Our college had various events planned at an inter-department level and at inter-college level. I always grabbed opportunities and participated in different activities, to name some, short video making, collage preparation, cultural days, tattoo design competition, treasure hunts and many more. I strived to balance both academics and co-curricular activities. I always worked in a way that my academics were not down due to other activities. My name along with a photo was pinned onto the notice board for securing one of the top three positions in my 5th-semester studies and a 100/100 in taxation paper. I believe dedication is the top most important factor to achieve brilliant things in life.

My work life at Deloitte has been so beautiful due to this approach. I try to complete the tasks within the deadline to avoid any point outs from the leadership. To prove myself better I started working with two different teams, handling various stakeholders and maintaining things well. I had also taken up a couple of initiatives within the firm besides regular client deliverables. I was recognized for my work and dedication with appreciation awards from both the teams. Awards do not reach any of us until unless we have made through hard times with flying colors. Through my years of spending time in different phases, I have realized one common thing which most of them could not negotiate was good and smart work. Where ever I have traveled, I was able to notice this.

Everyone is so particular about their satisfaction with every product/service they received. This attitude which people possess has given a great boon to business. It is quality delivery of work provided by us what turns single-time buyers into long-term clients. I believe that investing in time and coming up with innovative ideas and methods will always bring in happy returns to the business. Key factors dictating success would be good leadership and business knowledge combined with delivering the right customer expected outputs. I got a chance to see how a corporate work. I would always work towards delivering customer delight and not just regular customer satisfaction. I would like to pursue further studies in finance and accounting to help myself perform better with work.

I strongly believe that studying my desired course at a University which has good subject content pertaining to it is so important. I could surely see that in your University after going through the course modules and I know that a degree in Finance and Accounting MSc from your University will bring me one step closer to my goal. As it is situated in the United Kingdom which is a well-known place for studies, it would surely add more value and meaning to my course. I would want to learn better finance and accounting methods, clear data analysis, smart managerial techniques, and many other things under finance and accounting which are offered with this course.

I’m looking forward to networking with fellow classmates, learn from the leaders in this field, get motivated, exchange experiences and incorporate fresh ideas to become a successful postgraduate. I know it requires hard work and perseverance to achieve my goal, I’m ready to do that for making my dream come true and lead a life that I have desired for. I have heard pretty good things about the University and their courses, waiting to start another new phase with exciting things awaiting at my door.
