How could cell phone use cause negative effects on someone social skills and in what way does that make people more depressed and have weekend social skills. Cell phone use has drawn us to an antisocial state, cell phones have made it harder for us to understand or even feel basic emotions such as love or even happiness. Our human interaction quality has gone down seance cell phones have become a mainstream thing in 2012. Now we can even tie in cellphone use to emotional illnesses such as anxiety and even depression. Some things that have been looked over by me have been how cell phones have decreased our social quality seance they have become popular. Also taking a look at the side effects that a cell phone can give you if you depend on it, People diagnosed with ADHD have a harder time keeping their focus on one thing at a time, or how cell phones can give people mental setback such as anxiety or depression. The effects of cell phone and our brain cognition and our emotional process is very negative.

As humans we don’t see a need in one thing if something can fulfil the same job but better, that may seem off topic for you but in ties in with cell phone use really well. We don’t need to feel the emotion of love if we can just swipe left. We don’t need to pursue happiness if we have something that will show us all the things that will make us happy. A phone blocks out emotions that as humans we need. One thing that I have learned from NCBI.edu is how cellphones can take a disorder such as ADHD and make its effects even worse than they already are, let me explain. As humans it is really easy for us to fall under certain habits, for both good or bad. All it really takes is time and all the rules of the habit cycle to be complete, you know the cue, routine, reward. Well cell phones do a fantastic job in that cycle. First we have the cue, your cell phone making those obnoxious dings or vibrates letting you know that someone has sent you something or wants to talk to you. And the routine is obvious the cell phone keeps ringing and we keep checking. The reward is that we have a brief moment where we are connected to everyone for brief amount of time until the next ding.

This cycle is completed through the average teenagers life these days over and over again throughout the day. This in turn has a decrease in overall attention because of the the habit of temporary conversations. This in turn has been very bad for people with ADHD like me. ADHD is a disorder that basically has a lack of attention and focus for a certain amount of time. Wen people diagnosed with ADHD get into the habit of being with their phone their adhd will only become worse. Because when they are fixed to having small brief online conversations believe it or not that translates to the real world. So what little amount of focus we have actually becomes worse. Cell phones have a lot of power over your brain which can be scary. And even your emotions.

Cell phones have left a mark on our human programming for sure. We have seen that our social interaction has gone down but also has our our mood? Well to understand that question I watched a video by Lior Fren in his presentation on the TEDX stagehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgo65s1R6TM. One thing that he said has been a change in people’s happiness and imagination. One thing he said was “as a human I don’t really daydream anymore. This is a powerful statement because as humans one of the great things about us is our intelligence and creativity. So when a new generation has a lack of using their mind then this could be serious. So we have not been using our brain as much seance cell phones have become mainstream.

You may be thinking right now how does this make us depressed. When we are said we seek comfort in other people and lifting other people’s spirits. But thanks to our good old friend the cell phone, we have lost our social connection as I was just informing you about. We seek what’s in our pockets and that can be very unhealthy for our mental states. It’s important that we have the ability to speak to one another and we can’t let cell phone use get in the way of that. Now that we have some basic knowledge of how cell phones work, I think the picture of what we should be doing now onto the future has been shown. We need to get a handle on how we could limit ourselves and our cell phone use, because if we can’t find a way, then that could mean that social interaction could fade out and eventually be unneeded. One plan could be limit our social media time use.

One of the main reasons a lot of teens time is taken up on a phone is because of apps such as snapchat or instagram. We need to limit our use on those apps and if we have a question or we want to spark up a certain conversation with someone, we should avoid pushing these interactions through our cell phones and instead find a time were you can talk to the in person. This will lead to more conversations beyond what the intended subject was. This will be a great first step. Another thing we could do is try to spend times in our day such as meals and work times with as many people as we can instead of being on your phone for the entirety of the time you could be using with other people. I understand that some people are not extroverts but it helps everyone to try something new.
