Detailed answer:

Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famous painters of the Renaissance. He is also known for his drawings and inventions. In addition to being a painter, Leonardo was a scientist, mathematician, inventor, engineer and musician. Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 in the small town of Vinci in Italy. His father was an attorney, but Leonardo earned most of his money as a painter, inventor and engineer. He worked in many different cities throughout Europe until he died at age 67. Leonardo was buried in France, but his body was later moved to Italy and buried in a tomb with Michelangelo.

Leonardo’s first major work was The Last Supper (1495-1498). It was painted on plaster on a wall of the Dominican convent at Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. It depicts Jesus Christ at the last supper with his followers before being arrested by the Roman Empire soldiers under Pontius Pilate’s command. The painting became popular because it features people who look realistic compared to other paintings during that time period which were more like drawings or cartoons!

Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous painting is The Mona Lisa, which hangs in France’s Louvre Museum. This portrait depicts a woman smiling mysteriously into the distance. It has become one of the most famous portraits ever painted because it captures such beauty and mystery at the same time.

Leonardo’s other works include sculptures, frescoes and drawings as well as scientific studies about anatomy and optics. One of his most famous studies was on human proportions called Vitruvian Man.
