What is a Christian?

Updated: June 09, 2023
A Christian is a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christians believe in one God who created the world and all that is in it.
Detailed answer:

A Christian believes there is only one God who created everything and that He loves us so much that he sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross so we could go to heaven when we die. A Christian will believe anything the Bible says even though they may not understand all of it yet!

Christians are called to live according to the will of God (1 Peter 4:2). The Bible tells us that we should “conduct ourselves honorably among the Gentiles” (1 Peter 2:12). This means that we should live our lives in such a way as not to bring shame or reproach on God’s name by our actions and attitudes.

The Bible is a book written by men but inspired by God himself through his Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It contains 66 different books written over a period of 1500 years by 40 different authors from all walks of life including kings, peasants, doctors, and fishermen but they all had one thing in common: they were all saved by Christ.

Christians believe that all of Scripture is inspired by God and therefore is authoritative and trustworthy. This means that everything written in the Bible is true — whether or not we understand or agree with it at first glance — because it comes from God Himself, who cannot lie.
