Who is Candy?
Candy is an old, disabled man who works on the ranch with George and Lennie. He is friends with them, and it’s he who tells them about the farm that they could own. Candy is lonely and doesn’t have anyone to talk to. He’s afraid of being alone and doesn’t want to be a burden on George and Lennie.
Candy is kind and helpful, always offering to do whatever he can to help out. He is also a bit of a father figure to Lennie, always looking out for him. Candy is a hard worker and is always willing to do his share. He’s a good friend to both George and Lennie, and he’s always there for them when they need him most.
Candy is a simple man with simple dreams—he wants nothing more than what any other man would want: someone to talk to, peace of mind for himself as well as for his friends (George and Lennie), and a little bit more time on earth before it’s time for him to go meet up with his wife again in heaven above us all.
