Our group is researching about self- driving cars. It is an argument around the world about if they should be legal. In 2003, the first ever self- driving car actually came out. Since then its been the talk of the world. Some people argue that these futuristic cars will never benefit human life. Gas cars tend to cost less than these electric quiet cars. But some people also agree that these cars would be better for the economy. Naturally neither of these cars are supposed to be used because it hurts the environment. On the other hand, most of the information saying self – driving would not benefit the human society is biased. Instead of people being afraid to make change they should at least give the cars a try.
Looking at this from a economic lens this requires a look into the people and brands that are starting to put the world on this car. Just a while ago people were thinking these were fiction but they are really coming to life. This guy named Elon Musk is the CEO ( Chief Executive Officer ) of a company named Tesla ( a car company ). He is the man of the century right now. He makes semi self- driving cars. And these cars are already benefitting the society. Just think of when the cars become fully drivable on its own. The companys sedan won 2013 car of the year. This should tell you that the people like it. The electric vehicles are bringing a more fun ,quicker, and more suitable ride for people with a license. But Tesla isnt the only company coming out with electric cars other luxury brands are releasing them to such as Lexus, Mercedes, and Toyota. The whole world is going to go green now.
Taking a look into the prices and cost of the manufacturing of this car isnt much different from searching from them in any other car. If your going to have an electric car it is going to need to be charged. Charging the car is only $540 dollars a year. That isnt nearly how much an average person spends putting gas in their car everyday. Because the $2000 an average person puts in their gas guzzler every year isnt acceptable. The cars estimate to about $28,000 dollars to manufacture the car. It cost $2,300 dollars to make a charging station in public. Even though the expenses are super high. It doesnt matter the car isnt polluting the air as of the gas powered ones. Bottom line is electric cars are cheaper to own than the cars now.
