American Dream: Goal for the Majority of People

Table of Content

The American Dream has always been the driving force and essence of America, from its birth to the present. It encompasses various aspects such as controlling one’s destiny, achieving success, and living in freedom. Examples like television, automobiles, supermarkets, malls, the Internet, planes, trains, and more represent this dream. The American Dream symbolizes success, freedom, and the ability to determine one’s own fate. Many individuals in both past and present have aspired to be successful; I believe it is a crucial accomplishment. As an old English teacher once said: “success is a journey rather than a destination,” which aligns with the idea behind the American Dream. There are no boundaries to what can be achieved in America; attaining success is a fundamental part of this ultimate dream.

The United States has embraced diversity by dedicating itself to freedom, which attracts immigrants who also believe in the American Dream. However, we often overlook the value of freedom as it has become a routine for us. On the other hand, other countries view freedom as an ambitious aspiration akin to the American Dream. It is vital that we recognize the importance of openly expressing our thoughts and standing against injustice since this is an essential aspect of the American Dream. The existence of freedom stems from individuals’ belief in the American Dream.

The rarity of the American Dream in the world should be recognized, as it is often overlooked and not considered a part of the dream. In many countries, individuals are confined to a caste system or dictated by the government from birth until death. However, in America, individuals have the opportunity to rise from a low-income background and achieve great success, although the opposite can also occur. The American Dream gives people the power to determine their own fate and encompasses success, freedom, and control over one’s destiny. Despite our complaints about the economy, government, or President, we should acknowledge that few other countries allow their press to freely expose their leaders’ indiscretions. We possess so much and yet express dissatisfaction abundantly; our capability to voice concerns truly makes America remarkable.

The American Dream defines our uniqueness and forms the core essence of America – What exactly is it? It varies for each individual but includes achieving success, experiencing freedom, and controlling our own destinies.
