In 1962, Republic Steel of Cleveland approached the Steelers and suggested that they consider the Steel mark, the Insignia used by the American Iron and Steel Institute, as a helmet logo, a circle enclosing three Diamonds with inward-curving edges. The colors represent the three materials used to produce steel: yellow for coal; orange for iron; and blue for steel. The New England Patriots or also known as “Pats”, introduced their current logo in the 1993 season when the team underwent a major change in the uniform, colors and logo.

The logo is a silhouette of a patriot with the primary colors of the US flag and a star on the hat. The Patriots logo is also known as the “Flying Elvis” to some because of its slight resemblance to Elvis Presley’s long sideburns. The original logo is that of “Pat Patriot”, mascot of the New England Patriots. He is a revolutionary minuteman and wears a hat that looks similar to the logo. He also wears the Patriots home uniform. Blatt 2 Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a career high of 293 carries for 944 yards, for 14 touchdowns.

Ben was named to his second Pro Bowl after completing 324 of 513 passes. He has set many of the Steelers’ passing records since becoming the team’s starting quarterback in 2004. Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady has been elected to the Prow Bowl six times in his career. Tom was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, setting NFL records for most touchdown passes in a season. However Brady is 14-5 in the playoffs, the third best in NFL history behind Ben Roethlisberger (10-2). Troy Polamalu strong safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brandon Meriwether was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Signed by the Patriots, Named to two consecutive Pro Bowl teams. These two teams have been the most dominant of the past decade with a combined five Super Bowl rings and seven appearances. New England Patriots have seven super bowl appearances winning only three of them.

On the other hand the Steelers have played in eight Super Bowls, winning six of them, including four in six years. Other than winning more super bowls, the Steelers have more players in the hall of fame with 22 witches unlike the patriots with only 19. Through the 2011 NFL regular season, the overall record between the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers including Playoffs New England 11; Pittsburgh 15. 0. Overall both are great teams making it and winning many super bowls combined over the years.

I have shown the statistics of both teams and also both quarterbacks hoping to change some minds and get some more fans to agree with me. In my home the only one I have on my side is my nephew Taje’. On many occasions we have run through the house yelling “Black and yellow! ” to get under my fathers Skin as well as he has come running to inform us of their losses. My family loves football but when these Two teams meet it becomes chaos and craziness, just like when the pats meet the colts and the Steelers Meet the browns. The next time these two teams meet I have no doubt the steelers will dominate as they have in the past.
